Studying for a Bachelor Degree in Hungary is sought by many international students from different countries. The fact that Hungarian universities rank among the best in the world at specific programs like Medicine, makes it an attractive destination to study at for many international students.

The Bachelor degree courses’ length in Hungary varies from one major to another, where it is usually 4 years but can lasts up to 5-6 years for Sciences majors; such as: Engineering.

The academic year starts off in September, so early application for universities from March is needed to get accepted and admitted to a university in Hungary. The fact is that most universities in Hungary are public ones make the admission process and acceptance a competitive one, so students are highly encouraged to apply as early as possible. The academic year mostly ends on June with long holidays in July and August.

In the past few years, many Hungarian universities have started running several bachelor intakes besides the September one, hence allowing more international students to study in Hungary.

There are a wide majors and specializations offered for a bachelor degree in Hungary, where students can choose to study for a Bachelor of Arts or Sciences at their desired major of study. The academic requirements for each major differ from one university to another.

However, the key required documents for applying to a Bachelor Degree program at a Hungarian university are:

For some universities in Hungary, students will be required to undertake an entrance exam prior to their admissions at the university. The entrance exams mostly include assessing the students’ English language proficiency, critical and numerical reasoning through a Maths exam, as well as an online interview with one of the admissions team of the university. The test can be taken online and for some universities, they would allow the student to take the entrance exam upon his or her arrival in Hungary and prior to commencing his studies.
